A few years back one of my internet friends was making some money building cat condos. He would build them or pay friends too and then sell them on ebay. I tried to do this but barely had any wood working knowledge. knowledge is power So what I did was get a friend to help me. It turned out he was doing all the work and he only built one for me. I planned on selling it but took weeks for him to give it up. His girl friend was using it for her pet toy. I started taking orders from ebay and wasn’t able to full fill the orders. I then had to refund about five people. If I would of known of outdoor woodworking I could of learned how to do this myself. About five years ago my dad hired a old school buddy of mine to paint his house. He did the paint job on the side outside of the company. However just five years later the paint started peeling. One of my friends mentioned that he used cheap paint or wasn’t actual pure paint. Whatever he did the paint job didn’t last longer then five years. The work cost thousands. My parents next door neighbors painted there house by hand and the paint job looks great today.
The point of the story is if you do it yourself you know its going to be done right. You wont have someone doing a crappy job.
