Here in Portland Oregon home prices have gone through the roof in the past five years. One of my friends bought a house that came with garage conversions The home was a older style home with old style heating. They ended up selling this house a few years later and profited $50,000 on it. Then they used this equity to buy up into a bigger home.

If you own a home I recommend doing some Home improvements to increase your equity. Homes are the best investment most people have. Nothing like living with a fresh interior and make money at the same time.
