seaside oregon hiking
July 14th, 2009 under test this. [ Comments: none ]

Recently I have gone hiking in Seaside Oregon. I have tried the Tillamook Head trail. It is located near the golf course and to the left of the Tides motel. I only did this hike once and chose to end it early since it was getting dark. The time was 8 pm and something weird happened. I can across a strange guy who appeared to be a bum or someone who was poorly dressed. This guy was singing to himself and was walking with a stick. As we approached each other I said Hi hows it going or something to this effect. He doesn’t respond and keeps singing to himself. He was walking extremely slow. This was another reason I didn’t continue on from this unusual situation. I decided to head back since it just seemed too weird to me. On the way back I passed a group of about 4 boys and 1 girl. I asked if they had seen the guy and they too thought he was strange.
The girl ran by the guy as they passed. He did talk a few words to these kids. I plan to try this hike another time since I think it could have some really nice views of the ocean.

hiking parks in oregon

Lately I have been going on hikes. I enjoy hiking in the Oregon coastal range. Last weekend I hiked a trail right before you get to Manzanita. You park on the Ocean side on 101 then cross the road to get to this trail. Also you can hike on the Ocean side for a few miles. The hike I chose is Neakanie Mountain which reaches 1700 ft. What is weird is I find older people doing these hikes like it is nothing too it. I’m a big guy and they make it look so easy. This trail is located in Oswald State park. If you go to state parks you can buy a annual pass for 25.00 which I did. I look forward to more hikes and prefer to keep trying new hikes as they are more exciting to me.
